Dead fishy

I bought 2 fish on Friday, one of them is dead already... I'm beginning to think that maybe a aquarium was not the best idea. I have had the damn thing for a week and already lost 1 snail, 3 shrimp and 1 fish.

I hope this was the last aquatic animal that had to die before its time under my care...

i had the same thing;)
sometimes, the stress the fish takes when you buy them is to much,
so they can get deseases, or just die:)

And yeah, I contacted the store, they also think it's stress, because the other fish did make it.

Sigma, they do like me I just found a very tiny baby snail.

I wonder how fast it will grow.

(Rhinogobius Wui) Adapts it's color and patern to it's seroundings.


And I also have:

3x female apple snail

3 other species of snail:

(Physella acuta) These are the ones that made a bunch of baby snails.


(Melanoides tuberculatus)


(Planorbarius corneus)

And 2 shrimp:

I just got two of these (male and female) and a bigger aquarium.

Another shrimp died, only one left.

The new fish and the snails made the shrimp their meal. Even though snails are supposed to be herbivores...

guess my barbaric, satanic powers made them turn into savage beasts. Or they enjoy some change in diet. Probably the first suggestion though.

They are still bright yellow... which of course is unacceptable for Satanic Demon Snails. I think they will probably turn black or/and red within the next weeks.

You should turn this into a blog. Lots of people are interested in the daily life of fish owners! C:

Fish are not tasty. They swim in their own waste, they smell bad and are cannibals.


I got all my little cannibals in their new environment today. 60-litre aquarium, with living food and a lot of plants. Also, I got a new Rhinogobius, hopefully a male.

Also ordered 20 new shrimps, I'll get them Sunday. (Mar 30th) My old aquarium was already getting filthy now the shrimp were gone.

I got new shrimps! 21 of them, and it's a stronger breed then before. I hope they will survive this time.

They are still young and about 1 cm big at the moment. They will be around 3,5 cm when fully grown. They are white, and a bit transparent.

My carnivorous fish seem to think they are to fast, and to hard to find to be food, so that's one worry less.

The Sailfin molly is also pregnant.

And I got a white sailfine molly female to keep the other two company.

The fish in my coldwater aquarium have given birth to a bunch of tiny, but healty looking babies.
