I empathise with those children...

They'll be mistreated throughout their entire life,just because something went wrong....

And the scariest thing is that in a lot of these cases,the other head/face doesn't function. So you got some dead skin/extra skull to carry around with you.

That is actualy not quite true, in some countries children like those are worshipped, and the 2 headed girl has 2 functioning brains. Animals with 2 faces often share one brain.

Still,just because you have 1 functioning brain,doesn't mean you can use the other head/face/limb. Your brain isn't made for that. So the extra whatever just hangs there and gets along for the ride. Or gets removed.

As you can see, the animal is using BOTH mouths to drink. The brain is an amazing part of your body that can adjust itself to almost anything. So if you are born with 2 faces, and both have functioning muscular tissue, you will learn to use them.

That's pretty amazing. But ,if the animal in question could use what has grown extra on him, why do they so often get removed? That seems a bit odd to me.

Extra limbs and other defects are often 'fixed' in children, because the parents don't want other people to treat their child like an outcast. In non-human animals, they rarely ever fix the defects.

Sometimes the defects can cause trouble, like the child with 2 heads, there is not enough space on the body for 2 heads, so one of the heads is pushed to the side, and her spine became deformed. In this case they can't just remove the extra head, because they would kill one of the girls in the process.

If he/she has a functioning brain,you'd always kill one of them. There's no changing that.

But that aside. That picture of the baby with all those extra limbs on the bottom of his/her body,is that a real picture?

They probably made a tube that leads to her bladder, but I'm not sure about that.

A man that has a very odd skin condition that makes voilent warts grow from his skin that develop into root-like "organisms" on his hands,feet and a little bit on his face. It actually happened after he cut his leg, and a small portion of his relatives have the same comdition. Maybe it's genetic?

A surgeon offered him surgery to have them removed. He happily accepted.

Wow, I knew about this man, but I didn't know that they started operating on him! He must be happy to finaly get some medical help.

Yeah, he's happy that he can finally write and that he can eat by himslef after all this time. Aaaand,he can wear slippers! (concidering the fact that he had feet about half a meter wide)

So i'm happy for him! It's just an odd decease. He used to do freakshows...Makes you wonder what he's going to do for a living after this...

It is most common in big cats. "black panthers" are leopards or jaguars who have this condition.

Wait, plants have this condition too? Do you have some pictures of plants with this disease?

In plants it's more commonly revered to as purple stems.
