What makes a human who he or she is? Is it mainly genetic inheritance, or is it what you teach them.

Is a killer born a killer? Is a artist born a artist? Is a sportsman born a sportsman? Can you learn something if you have absolutely no natural talent for it?

if you really cant dance you'll never learn it.
if you don't have a nice voice you wont apeal as a singer.
so yeah talent is a born gift i think.
everybody is good at something.

I think that you can learn most things by practise, and only basic, primal things are born skills.

Most people who are good at dancing have been taught to dance by their parents from a young age, same with making music, same with art, etc.

Dancing, singing, drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument, all those things are not needed for basic survival, therefore I think we are not born with these things.

Just like dogs aren't born to sniff out drugs, or to guide blind people. They require years of training to learn it.

You have born talent, but the way you're raised molds the way you use it,or IF you use it. Just like drug hounds. They always had an impressive sence of smell,so they're taught to smell certain things. In this case drugs.

All dogs have a incredible sense of smell that we can't even imagine about. And any dog could probably be a drug hound, but some breeds are just easier to train.

And that is just the point I was trying to make about humans, we all have these abilities, but some of us are trained from birth and/or are easier to train, and thus seem to have 'natural talent' for it.

I don't thnk it's one over the other. Both play a crucial role into shaping who we are.
